He holds a Ph.D. in Hispanic Studies from Brown University and is currently a full-time professor in the area of ​​Spanish-American Language and Literature at the UASLP. He belongs to the Modern Language Association, the Transatlantic Project at Brown University, and the "Novel Latin American Literature"  LETRAL project at the Universidad de Granada. He also directs the editorial project of the School of Social Sciences and Humanities of his university. His research work is dedicated to the latest generation of Hispanic-American literature in a transatlantic context, with special interest in the criminal narratives, as well as the use of creative writing as a learning tool.
