gci@uaslp.mxDra. Virginia Gabriela Cilia López is a full-time research professor level V of the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí.
Is Biologist from the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla and has a PhD in Environmental Sciences with a specialization in renewable natural resources from the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí. Is member of the SNI level 1. Her lines of research are: Ethnobotany, traditional management of plant genetic resources, traditional diets and safety and food safety and ethnopharmacology. She has more than 10 years of experience in the documentation of knowledge and traditional management of natural resources and more than 10 years of experience in teaching and research. She is currently responsible for the Observatory of Food Safety and Nutrition in the state of San Luis Potosí.
She has published scientific and dissemination articles in national and international high impact journals and has directed and advised more than 21 undergraduate, master's and doctoral theses.
