Research Professor with extensive scientific experience in the activity of proteins that act as receptors and transporters in epithelia, especially at the level of renal tubules. Experience in multiple techniques to identify drugs and toxins that bind to these proteins and regulate their cellular action, modifying the physiology of the organ and its impact on the entire organism (pharmacodynamics). With a great interest in knowing the effects of oxidative stress on drug-receptor interaction and recently working on a new line of research in the discovery of new drugs derived from plant extracts that modify the antioxidant capacity of the organism in models of diabetes and hyperuricemia.

Personal Researchs Interest
  1. Oxidative stress in early stages of acute renal injury
  2. Intracellular signaling in epithelial cells apoptosis caused by chemotherapeutic agents
  3. Renal adenosine and glucose transporters characterization in hypothyroidism and diabetes mellitus type 2
