My research focuses on the functional characterization of genes involved in polyamine catabolism and transport in Arabidopsis thaliana plants during the interaction with hemibiotrophic and necrotrophic pathogens. The understanding of the interconnection between polyamine metabolism, reactive oxygen species production, hormone balance, and signaling under stress conditions is of primary interest. In addition, my research group focuses on isolating and characterizing plant-growth-promoting bacteria from arid soils.

Keywords: plant molecular biology, stress physiology, polyamines, reactive oxygen species, biotic stress.
