Cardona is a researcher and consultant in hydrogeology and water resources with
a sound background in the fields of hydrogeology, hydrogeochemistry and
statistical analysis of hydrogeological data. With a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in
hydrogeology and more than 25 years of experience as a consultant, academic
researcher and teacher, he brings a strong scientific and technical background
to his work. He has over 25 years of research experience on matters
related to the chemistry of water resources and the origin, transport, and fate
of inorganic contaminants in groundwater and surface water systems. Dr. Cardona
has also authored or coauthored 40 peer-reviewed papers, 2 books, 13 chapters
in books, about 35 Conference Publications (with figures and tables), more than
50 abstracts in Conference Publications and more than 90 oral presentations in
Congress and Symposia; currently his investigations have been cited in over 750
research papers and thesis. Antonio has substantial experience with problems
related to the naturally occurrence of fluoride, arsenic, heavy metals,
radionuclides and groundwater age-dating. Expert in geophysical surveys,
drilling, packer-test and pumping test supervision. For environmental
assessment, has considerable experience in risk analyses for groundwater
vulnerability (numerical models or index methods). He is an accredited national
researcher by the National Research Institute of México (SNI) since 1998 and
since 2003 recognized as a Qualified University Professor by the National
Ministery of Public Education (SEP) of Mexico.
