Dr. Jose Luis Tecpanecatl Xihuitl completed her undergraduate studies in Electronics at the Autonomous University of Puebla (BUAP) and the Master of Science in Electronics at the National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics (INAOE). Later he continued his studies of Doctorate in Computer Engineering at the Center for Advanced of Computer Studies at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in the United States.

In august 2009 he joined the School of Sciences of the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí to join the educational program of Electronic Engineering. Dr. Tecpanecatl was coordinator of the Electronics Engineering Program on 2012. Later on, he was on charge of Academic chair from 2012 to 2016, additionally he is in charge of the office of registrar since 2016.Dr. Tecpanecatl is part of Technical Council of EGEL-CENEVAL since 2014

The academic interests of Dr. Tecpanecatl are oriented to Digital Signal Processing on Real Time, Computer Architectures design oriented on Image Processing algorithms and Video Coding. Where the main emphasis is on terms of low power and energy efficient by using approximate computing techniques.
