D. studies in chemistry-biology sciences, interested in studying the elimination of organic and inorganic contaminants through physicochemical and microbiological processes. In particular, the research has focused in recent years on the use of animal or vegetable waste as adsorbent materials of organic and inorganic contaminants or as support materials to favor the biodegradation of the white pollutant. Secondary contamination generated during the previous processes is treated by biological processes in which the microbiota bioprospecting stage capable of carrying out the required degradation is of vital importance, as well as the evaluation of its population dynamics. In addition to this, the enzymatic characterization involved in biodegradation is of interest for the proposal of biodegradation pathways for compounds, this given in systems by batch or bioreactors at laboratory scale.
The
so-called emerging pollutants, which in some cases are also classified as
endocrine disruptors require attention in their treatment since some of them
have been detected in deep waters contaminating the available water resource.
