Dr. María del Carmen González Castillo studied at the UASLP, obtained the degree of Chemist and Pharmacologist at the Faculty of Chemical Sciences, the Master's Degree in Cell Biology and the Doctorate in Biomedical Sciences at the Faculty of Medicine. He carried out a postdoctoral stay in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Neurobiology of the Institute of Neurobiology Campus UNAM Juriquilla, and later obtained the position of associate researcher in that institution. In 2007 he joined the Faculty of Chemical Sciences as a full-time Professor Level VI researcher. Currently, she is SNI 2 and PRODEP profile. He has published more than 45 research articles, and more than 10 dissemination articles. The lines of research he has developed are novel and are aimed at the biological evaluation and the study of the mechanisms of action of endogenous substances (hormones and growth factors) and exogenous substances (nanomaterials and nutraceutical agents), all these investigations having a high impact in the identification of biological markers that are altered during the development and progression of cardiovascular diseases associated with alterations during pregnancy, investigations in which knowledge is being generated that leads to prevent the death of maternal and infant in this population. It is also designing and proposing new protocols for the evaluation of nanomaterials, through joint efforts with the thematic network of Nanosciences and Nanotechnology - National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT), through the SINANOTOX project, with City U in Hong Kong and with the European Community.
