Dr. Ruth Aguilar completed her undergraduate studies in Computing at the Autonomous University of Puebla (BUAP) and the Master of Science in Electronics at the National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics (INAOE). Later she continued her studies of Master in Computer Engineering and the Doctorate in Computer Engineering at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in the United States.
In February 2008 she
joined the School of Sciences of the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí
to join the educational program of Electronic Engineering. Dr. Aguilar was
coordinator of the Electronic Engineering of 2012 - 2017.
Dr. Aguilar's
academic interests are focused on Digital Signal Processing, Image and Video
Processing applied to Intelligent Video Surveillance Systems. During her PhD
studies she focus on object detection systems using background subtraction
techniques applied to sensor networks. Subsequently, she have focused on video
compression systems, specifically towards High Definition Video standards
(H.264).
