Dr. Martínez-Rodríguez is a full-time professor and researcher at the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí. Currently, in this institution he is in the Faculty of Sciences in the area of electronic engineering, participating in the Bachelor's Degree program in Electronic Engineering and the Master's Degree program in Electronic Engineering and the Doctor Degree program in Engineering Sciences. Among his academic achievements, he has published more than 25 articles in an indexed journal, 40 articles of international congresses and a technological development (CONACYT). He has also been an advisor to at least ten master's students, twenty undergraduate students and at the moment two doctoral theses. He has also participated in several research projects, as well as with the industrial sector. In virtue of his academic achievements, he was awarded the National Level of Researchers I by the National System of Researchers (SNI-1) on January 1, 2008. This distinction has been ratified through three re-election calls up to 31 December 2022.

He has also participated as a reviewer in international journals indexed by the JCR, such as, IEEE-TIE, IEEE-TPE, Wiley-ETPEP, IJEPES-Elsevier and journals recognized by CONACYT in other international indexes such as Elsevier-UNAM. Also, Dr. Martínez-Rodríguez has participated in national committees for the evaluation of research projects in CONACYT and PRODEP, as well as participating as a member in the energy planning working group of the State Energy Council of the State of Guanajuato.
