I got my B.S. in Chemistry (2002) and Ph.D. in Earth Sciences and Environment (2008) at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain). My scientific interests are focused on the speciation, bioavailability and toxicity of inorganic contaminants like potentially harmful elements in surface and subsurface environments as well as the reactions involved at the mineral-water interface to better understand geochemical phenomena such as (bio)geochemical element cycling, contaminant fate, and mineral weathering. I am also interested in modeling (surface complexation and reactive transport) and in the application of advanced synchrotron-based spectroscopic techniques to problems in geochemistry, environmental chemistry and mineral-water interface chemistry.
