I have training in molecular biology techniques such as interference RNA, DNA and RNA extraction, RT-PCR and Western blot, as well as the analysis of intracellular reactive oxygen and calcium species by spectrofluorometry, phagocytosis of human neutrophils and the P2X7 receptor in the generation of reactive oxygen species in mouse macrophages. Work on determining the signaling pathways that underlie activation of the P2X7 receptor for the generation of reactive species. I have worked on the implementation of cultures of neurons of the dorsal ganglion root and cortical neurons, primary culture of oligodendrocytes (OLG) and the technique of calcium measurement by fluorescence in a single cell for the pharmacological characterization of purinergic receptors and their role in myelination in co-cultures neurons-OLG. I am currently investigating the effects of arsenic on purinergic receptors in an in vitro model for the study of the mechanisms of neurodegeneration in Alzheimer's disease and what is the role of these receptors in the development of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and Diabetic encephalopathy?
