gci@uaslp.mxDr. Diego Rivelino Espinoza Trejo was born in Ciudad Valles, San Luis Potosí, México in 1978. He received the B.S. degree in electronics engineering (1996-2001) and the M.Sc. (2001-2004) and Ph.D. (2004-2008) degrees in electrical engineering from the Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí, San Luis Potosí, México.
He has made research stays in the Department of
Electrical Engineering, Louisiana State University, United States (summer
2007), in the Faculty of Engineering, Universidad Nacional de Río Cuarto,
Córdoba, Argentina (summer 2010 and 2012), in the Faculty of Engineering, Universidad
Nacional Autónoma de México (August 2015 - July 2016), and in the Department of
Electrical Engineering, Université du Québec en Outaouais, Canada (summer 2018
and 2019).
His main research interest is the study of Grid-Connected
Photovoltaic Systems from the perspective of control theory, optimization and
power electronics. The main objective is to integrate, in an efficient and
safety way, PV systems into a microgrid. His most recent contributions have
focused on photovoltaic maximum power point trackers and model-based techniques
for fault diagnosis in power electronics converters used in PV systems.
