gci@uaslp.mxDr. Rosales is a biopharmaceutical chemist from
the Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí (UASLP). He completed his Master's
and Ph. D. in Sciences in Molecular Biology at the Instituto Potosino de
Investigación Científica y Tecnológica (IPICYT). During his postgraduate
studies he did a research stay at the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). Subsequently he made a couple of postdoctoral stays in
the Center for Research and Advanced Studies of the IPN (CINVESTAV), Irapuato
unit. Since January 2014, he has worked as a Full Professor in the
Agroindustrial Area of the Engineering Faculty of the UASLP, where he is
responsible for the Agroindustrial Biotechnology laboratory. In 2022, he did a sabbatical stay as visiting professor at the University of Toronto. The main research lines
developed are the bioproducts production such as biofuels and bioplastics using mainly agroindustrial wastes as a
substrate; as well as the biological
control of phytopathogens. Dr. Rosales has published several research articles
in indexed peer-reviewed journals with more than 680 citations (Google
scholar). He has also published several popular science articles, presented
more than 25 research works in national and international conferences, as well
as being responsible for research projects of CONACYT and PRODEP.
