Study of ecophysiological and molecular mechanisms of CAM plants exposed to abiotic stress conditions. Crassulacean Acid Metabolism (CAM) is a photosynthetic pathway that helps plants conserve water and survive in arid and semi-arid climates or with limited water supply. Our research objectives are to understand how the expression of CAM is controlled by environmental stress factors (drought, salinity and solar radiation). Our approach is to perform integrated analyses of transcriptome and ecophysiology in desert plants such as cactus (Opuntia streptacantha), an endemic plant from Mexico.

Management and optimization of the physiology of vegetables grown in greenhouses. Currently, San Luis Potosí has positioned itself as one of the most important states in Mexico in the production of vegetables grown under the different systems of protected agriculture. We analyze the responses of the crops to the climatic conditions in which they find themselves with the objective of making the crops more efficient and increasing their yield.
