Geologist Bachelor by the Faculty of Engineering of the UASLP in 1985, with a Master of Science (Geology) from the Technical University of Clausthal, Germany, in 1989 and Doctor rer. nat. by the same University in 1994. Current Director of the Institute of Geology of the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí, teaching in the Geology and Postgraduate Program in Applied Geology of the Faculty of Engineering of the same university and recognized with the level 1 of the National System of Researchers (SNI), being a founding and active member of the Postgraduate Program in Applied Geology and the consolidated Academic Group “Geodynamics and Crust Evolution". Technical responsible to date of five basic research projects SEP-CONACyT and technical responsible, participant or responsible for the agreement of 26 projects of advice to the industry. His main lines of research are Stratigraphy and Paleogeography of the Early Mesozoic in Central and Northeastern Mexico, Regional Geology, geotectonic environments of Mexico and Geological Risks in San Luis Potosí. With publication of 30 articles, indexed or of rigorous peer review, with more than 500 citations, in addition to 45 Abstracts or memories as first author, product of participation in national and international congresses. His main scientific contributions have been in the field of regional geology and tectonic evolution of northeastern Mexico, especially on the stratigraphy, paleogeography, geochronology and sedimentation during the Triassic and Lower to Middle Jurassic, Jurassic volcanism and tectonic evolution of the Gulf of Mexico.
