Geologist Engineer from the Faculty of Engineering of the UASLP in 1985, with a Master of Science (Geology) from the Technical University of Clausthal, Germany, in 1989 and Doctor rer. nat. by the same University in 1994. Since 2001 to 2021, research activities and director of the Institute of Geology of the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí (UASLP), including teaching in the Engineering in Geology and Postgraduate in Applied Geology programs of the Faculty of Engineering of the UASLP. Level II of the National System of Researchers, being a founding and active member of the Postgraduate Program in Applied Geology and of the consolidated Academic body "Geodynamics and Earth crust Evolution". Technical manager of 5 completed SEP-CONACyT basic research projects and technical manager or participant of 30 consultancy projects for industries or government agencies. His main research lines are: Stratigraphy and Paleogeography of the Early Mesozoic in Central and Northeast Mexico, Regional Geology and geotectonic environments of Mexico and Geological risks in San Luis Potosí state. With publication of 30 indexed or rigorously peer-reviewed articles with more than 950 citations, in addition to 45 abstracts or proceedings in memoirs as first author and product of participation in national and international conferences. His main scientific contributions have been in the field of regional geology and tectonic evolution of northeastern Mexico, especially on the stratigraphy, paleogeography, geochronology and sedimentation for the Triassic and Jurassic, Jurassic volcanism and tectonic evolution of the Gulf of Mexico.
