He participated as visiting professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering and in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Western Ontario in Canada. His research with a high impact on environmental pollution control are related to heterogeneous catalysis and include the following topics: hydrogen production through photoelectrocatalytic reactions, selective oxidation of hydrocarbons, and photocatalytic oxidation of organic compounds dissolved in waste water. He has published 87 scientific articles, which have received more than 2,200 citations. To date, he has supervised two undergraduate theses, 29 M. Sc. theses, and 14 Ph. D. dissertations.
