Kaufmann, Professor-Researcher at the Faculty of Psychology, is a Member of the Mexican National System of Researchers (2020 - 2024), a Member of the State System of Researchers of San Luis Potosí, and has the Recognition of the Desirable Profile from Mexico's National Program for Teacher's Professional Development (2023 - 2027). A member of the Academic Committee of the Doctorate program in Psychology and the Master's program in Human Rights, he teaches various courses and supervises theses at the postgraduate level, in both programs, as well as in the Master's program in Public Health, all recognized National Postgraduate Programs of Quality (PNPC).
A Fulbright Scholar (2007 - 2010), Nicholas earned his Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago (USA) with an emphasis in Community and Prevention Research. Member of the Health Psychology and Psychotherapy Research Group, CA-UASLP 247, Nicholas focuses broadly on the study of psychosocial processes and socio-emotional development across the lifespan in the fields of health and education. He has contributed to the design, implementation and evaluation of health promotion intervention strategies with diverse cultural groups.
As an External Consultant, Nicholas has written numerous technical guidance documents for the World Health Organization, the Mexican Ministry of Health, and various non-governmental organizations (Instituto Promundo and the Global Fund for Children). He has published articles in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters, as well as forty participations in scientific outreach and activism events nationally and internationally. He is fluent in English, French & Spanish.
