gci@uaslp.mxActually studying a PhD in mechanical engineering with a research project in biomechanics, specifically studying the biomechanics of both, normal and pathological gait for patients with knee osteoarthritis. The objective of this research project is the analysis of the biomechanics of human gait for the diagnosis and assessment of orthopedic problems. Algorithms and computer vision systems are being applied for the study and characterization of the gait. In this same line of research, prostheses and orthoses have been designed and proposed for the knee joint, as well as a transfemoral leg prosthesis. Other lines of research correspond to the areas of industrial automation, instrumentation, robotics and 3D reconstruction.
