The topics I research are based on the adversarial and accusatory system in Mexico. I have compared some of the Mexican legal and criminal institutions with other figures in countries of Latinamerica, the United States and some countries of Europe. Mexico had a major legal reform in 2008 when the oral trials were included in the Federal Constitution. All these changes have resulted in important topics for me to do research.

Some of  the issues I analyze are: due process, victim’s and accused’s rights, the exclusionary rule, evidence in electronic crimes and the enforcement of criminal sentences. I have been working with an academic group doing reserach on Criminology and Forensic Sciencies but I have also been involved with other research groups doing work nationally and overseas.

My job as a researcher has allowed me to write books and scientific articles. I have also coordinated books and journals focused on these topics. Some of these materials have been a tool while training public servants and authorities working on the new model of justice in Mexico.

Being part of the National System of Researches is a challenge and demands  to have more legal analysis in my writings.
