Professor at Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí. His research interests and professional experience include: a) Bioprocesses, as an alternative for the production of alternative energy, green fuels and high added-value chemical products, b) Non-isothermal plasma technology, for the selective modification of surfaces for the development of adsorbents, catalysts and bactericidal surfaces, c) Catalysis, in particular the synthesis, physiochemical characterization and catalytic evaluation of supported metal nanostructures and solid acids. Currently, he coordinates the research lines of the “Cluster Bioturbosina” of the Mexican Center for Innovation in Energy-Biomass. He has directed 11 bachelor's, 21 master's and 4 doctoral theses. He has published 39 research articles and 24 books to promote science, technology and innovation. He has more than 1000 citations to his publications and he has made more than 250 presentations at research and teaching academic events.

He was responsible at UASLP for the creation of a bachelor degree in Bioprocess Engineering, and for specialization programs in “Intellectual Property” and “Dissemination of Science”. He has obtained several grants (financial resources) for the development of individual and group research projects, and also to support activities related to graduate studies, science, technology and innovation.  He has actively promoted the processes of innovation and entrepreneurship among researchers and graduate and undergraduate students in San Luis Potosí. He has collaborated in various entrepreneurship initiatives of the local government and the productive sector. He is the author of the book "Methodology for the creation of companies based on research and technological development" edited by INADEM.
