He obtained his B.Sc. degree in 1998 in Electronic Engineer from the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí (UASLP)He also got his M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering and his PhD degree in Applied Sciences in the AUSLP, in 1999 and 2003, respectively. Since 1998 he began teaching at the Faculty of Sciences and since 2003 he joined at the UASLP as a full-time Professor. He is a member of the SNI with level 1 since 2007. He has the PRODEP distinction since 2004 to date, with a second renewal for 6 years. In October 2012, he was admitted as a regular member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences. He has taught undergraduate and graduate level courses at UASLP, and he has been advisor in 11 Bachelor's theses, 10 Master's theses, and 7 PhDs theses.

 In 2018, he participated in the management of the National Laboratory for Research, Instrumentation and Medical Imaging (CI3M), campus UASLP. His research work includes more than 45 articles in indexed journals, 18 extensive articles of refereed national and international conferences, 3 book chapters and one patent. In 2010 and 2011 he made Sabbatical stays at the Institute of Bio-Circuits of the University of California, San Diego and at the Potosino Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (IPICYT), respectively.
