Doctor in Hispanic Literature by El Colegio de México (2008) and Doctor of Spanish Philology by the University of Zaragoza (2017). His academic interests refer to the literature of New Spain and the Golden Age, popular literature and rhetoric, about which he has published several books and articles. He has been visiting professor at the Department of Hispanic Studies at Brown University and visiting researcher at El Colegio de Sonora, has taught courses at the Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania, and at the University of Sonora; He is currently a full-time researcher at the Institute of Humanistic Research of the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí and director of the collection of critical editions of colonial texts El paraíso en el Nuevo Mundo (Iberoamericana / Vervuert, Madrid / Frankfurt).
